Margarita Galandina
Artist bio:
Margarita Galandina is a Siberian-born artist based in London. She studied at the Russian Ballet Academy and pursued academic drawing and painting in Siberia. Upon emigrating to the United Kingdom, she undertook a BA in Fashion Communication and Promotion at Central Saint Martins, followed by an MA at the London College of Communication in Photography in 2022.
Her dance, film, fashion, and photography background has formed a multi-faceted approach to her practice. Although no longer residing in Siberia, she continues to engage with Buryat-Mongol culture and history in emigration. She was the Mead Fellowship Awardee 2023, included in Belfast Photo Festival 2023, Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize exhibitor 2023, and shortlisted for the Sproxton Photography Award 2022. Her work has been seen in the British Journal of Photography and Musee Magazine.'
